Counselling can support you through difficult thoughts, emotions and life experiences, helping you feel more grounded, clearer, and more able to cope. I offer sessions online via Zoom, by telephone, and face-to-face in Torbay, South Devon.
If you don’t see your exact situation listed below, you’re still very welcome to get in touch. Often it’s the impact on your emotional wellbeing and everyday life that matters most.

Anxiety, Overthinking and Panic
Anxiety can show up in many ways, including racing thoughts, constant worry, feeling on edge, struggling to relax, or feeling like you’re always “bracing” for something to go wrong. It can also affect sleep, relationships, confidence, and your ability to cope day to day.
In counselling, we can explore what’s driving your anxiety and what keeps it going. Together we can work on practical coping strategies, emotional support, and building a calmer internal space so you feel more in control.
This may include gentle therapeutic exploration, alongside tools from approaches such as CBT, person-centred counselling, and Gestalt therapy, depending on what suits you.
Depression and Low Mood
Depression and low mood can feel draining and isolating. You might feel numb, flat, unmotivated, tearful, or as though you’re simply going through the motions. It can be hard to explain to others, especially when you’re doing your best to “keep going”.
Counselling offers a confidential space to talk honestly about how you’re feeling, without pressure or judgement. We can explore what’s contributed to the way you’re feeling, what support you need right now, and how to begin moving forward in a way that feels realistic and manageable.

Work-Related Stress, Burnout and Overwhelm
Work-related stress can build gradually over time. You might feel exhausted, anxious, emotionally stretched, or unable to switch off, even when you’re not working. Burnout can affect confidence, motivation, relationships, and your overall wellbeing.
Counselling can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, recognise your limits without guilt, and find healthier ways to cope. We can explore boundaries, pressure, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the expectations you carry, both from work and from yourself.
Loneliness and Isolation
Loneliness isn’t always about being physically alone. You can have people around you and still feel disconnected, unseen, or unable to talk openly about what you’re going through.
If you’re feeling isolated, counselling can provide a safe and supportive relationship where you feel listened to and understood. Together, we can explore what’s contributed to the loneliness, how it affects your confidence and emotional wellbeing, and what support might help you feel more connected over time.

Low Self-Esteem and Confidence
Low self-esteem can affect the way you see yourself, the choices you make, and what you feel you “deserve” in life. You might find yourself apologising often, doubting your decisions, avoiding conflict, or feeling like you’re not good enough.
In counselling, we can explore where these beliefs came from and how they’ve been reinforced over time. Through a gentle therapeutic process, you can begin to rebuild self-worth, strengthen confidence, and feel more able to use your voice and make choices that support your wellbeing.
Trauma, Bereavement and Loss
Loss can be devastating, whether it’s the death of someone close to you, the end of a relationship, a change in health, or a life event that has altered your sense of safety and “normal”.
My approach to trauma and loss is gentle and paced. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready. Counselling can help you process difficult emotions, make sense of what’s happened, and feel supported as you move forward.
I also have professional experience supporting clients with bereavement and loss, including through my work with Age UK and Cruse Bereavement Training.

Neurodiversity Support (Adults and Young People)
Supporting neurodiverse clients is a passion of mine. Many people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia have spent years feeling misunderstood, judged, or labelled in ways that have impacted their confidence and self-esteem.
Counselling can offer a space where you can be yourself without masking, and where you feel respected and listened to. Together, we can explore anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, identity, relationships, and self-worth, while also building coping strategies that feel supportive in real life.
I work with both adults and young people, and I offer a calm, non-judgemental approach that supports inclusion and self-acceptance.
Relationships and Life Transitions
Life doesn’t always go to plan. You might be navigating a breakup, changes in family life, shifting identity, a new stage of life, or a sense that you’ve lost direction.
Counselling can support you to reflect, process emotions, and reconnect with what matters to you. Over time, we can clarify goals and aspirations, build resilience, and support you in making choices with greater confidence and intention.
